About Course

Welcome to JHS 2 Social Studies, an engaging course designed to help you understand your environment, family, community and nation.

You will explore important topics such as environmental protection, family life, human rights, conflict management, entrepreneurship, tourism and Ghana’s political development.

Through practical examples and real-life situations, you will build the knowledge, values and problem-solving skills needed to become a responsible and active citizen.

What Will You Learn?

  • Protect the Environment: Understand water pollution, energy conservation, natural disasters and ways of protecting the environment.
  • Understand Family and Population: Explore family systems, inheritance, population structure and their importance in society.
  • Contribute to Your Community: Develop an understanding of community development, decision-making, volunteerism and responsible participation.
  • Promote Rights, Peace and Responsibility: Understand human rights, citizenship, responsibilities, conflict prevention and peaceful conflict management.
  • Understand Ghana’s Development: Explore entrepreneurship, financial management, tourism and Ghana’s journey through the First and Second Republics.
